adopt a tree
“The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit.”
There are 75 young trees in Thornbury Park including the 31 fruit trees in our orchard. They all need some dedicated care, particularly when we have prolonged dry periods like the summers of 2022 and 2023.
Will you adopt one?
All you need to do is weed and mulch it each spring (we provide the mulch) and bring it water in dry times. There is an outdoor tap on the back wall of the Milford Arms that you can use to fill your water container.
We will let everyone know that you are its “parent” with a discrete sign on the tree (costs £10), and we ask you to make a small donation of your choice to Thornbury Park Friends CIC.
Signs are designed and manufactured by local company Vector Signs.
You can see a map of all the young trees in the orchard, and a description of each tree. (trees marked in green on this list have already been adopted.)
